Smokehouse in Denton

Our waitress was amazing, but unfortunately it was not very good. But before you turn away please not I did not get there smoked meats I got wings. I did try their smoked turkey and it was great.

The good: The server was very nice, the drink was ice cold, mozzarella sticks were... well, mozzarella sticks and the owner who runs the cash register is very pleasant. The bad: The 3 meat plate. 2 ribs were marginal at best. The sliced brisket and pork were dry, luke warm and had very little taste even with the bbq sauce that tasted similar to Great Value brand. I took one bite of each and left it. Pinto beans were ok and potato salad was good. Toast was good with the Walmart tasting sauce on it. The Ugly: the $19 and change I paid for it and the 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back from eating there. Keep in mind reviews are nothing more than opinions and this is mine. Give them a shot and make up your own mind. I did and I have. I won't be back..

First visit there, ordered take-out. Food was very good and fresh. We would eat there again. Ribs were cooked well and were meaty. Brisket was very good, too. Loved the BBQ sauce. Yum!

This was my first time ordering from this place. I ordered to go. The main dish and sides were smashed together, the fries were soggy, no flavor what’s so ever. I will not be eating here ever again.

Food 5 on scale of 1 to 10 prices not that low and the old lady that works there very rude and cheap

Was told this was the best of any smokehouse in Denton and the surrounding area. Ordered 2 pounds of brisket to go. It was dry and tough... grocery store frozen brisket is better. I am so disappointed. Good money spent on something I had to smother and warm in butter just to get some moisture in it. Tough as a tire.

The food is delicious and the waitress are nice and friendly, great place for gathering for lunch or dinner with friends and family... I highly recommend it to everyone...

In town visiting and this place is amazing. From the southern hospitality from the waitress down to the fall off the bone ribs everything about this place is A1. If you are looking for some great food with a smile then please come here. I promise you won't regret it.

Monday's all you can eat is awesome.

Best barbecue place I've been to so far in TEXAS. That being said it still had a couple of things they could do better. While the brisket was really great, juicy, tender yum but the potato salad was... well more like potato mush salad. The potatoes had been cooked too soft so that it became more like mashed potato salad. The green beans were good but pretty much the same fare I've had anywhere. The ribs were meaty and very well prepared easily the star of the meal. Just the right amount of char and fall off the bone juiciness. Coleslaw was ok but the German Potato Salad was really good. The biggest reason I will go back is the service. Perhaps they are family of the restaurant owner, I dont know, but took care of me like I was their family.

Good food, but waitress leaves something to be desired

We ordered carry out food and were not satisfied with quality. Chicken fried steaks looked prefabricated (perfect ovals) and tasted like flour and processed meat. Fried okra was dry and did taste fresh at all. Also we missed an order of mashed potatoes, so I recommended to recount if you are ordering multiple meals. Overall, Smokehouse has reduced its quality of food dramatically, since last time we ordered. They used to have very good value food but I guess their priorities changed...

Best price on a new york strip steak and a veggie ever. $7.95 I frequent this place at least once a week for the steak or a sliced beef sandwich. As long as you request "lean" you'll come out with a great sandwich at a great price. Down home atmosphere where almost everyone has mud on their boots. My kind of place. I cant stand most of the restaurants in this town. Lefty hipster BS. But I don't get that vibe here. Don't know their politics but they sure make a hell of a brisket. But the other meats are good too I just prefer the staple.

It's ALWAYS the same !!!Excellent home style hickory smoked pit BBQ. The brisket is the plate cut and not the fatty part. Extra large drink glasses and you never have to ask for a refill. The best homemade onion rings in the state of Texas. One order will feed 2-people. Home cut fries, always freshly cooked. Not pre-cooked waiting under a heat lamp. The value, quality, portions and service can't be beat. I've been a customer for 20 yrs and WILL be as long as I'm able to come. No surprises here, just good 'ole Texas hospitality and food !!!

Gets worse and worse. They should really look at the quality of the food they're serving. Faux mashed potatoes, green beans dumped from can no seasoning if you don't count the tin can taste. More breading than steak. Let nothing out standing and no health options.

Been Going There for Over 20 years. , I live in North Carolina now and Still visit every 4th Of July for The Fireworks with My Kids there in Denton ...

Ok. Nice UBER eats driver. Delivered my food fast and was still hot. Smokehouse is a little expensive. Staff is friendly.

Wife and I traveled to DFW area this weekend and on our way back I took a wrong turn. Thankfully I did because we found this fabulous restaurant. Wait staff is SUPER friendly. My drink never got below half a glass. Food came fast and hot. The flavor and taste were amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend this place!

I always get the ribs. The have the best sauce and the meat is so tender. I also like their sandwiches. Took my Rebekah President there for lunch and she enjoyed it very much. The servers are very nice.

Greatest pies! Everything is else good also...but those pies! The atmosphere will take you back to Denton 1970 real quick...love it

Not bad, but the main reason we came back was quantity over quality...now the portions appeared to have been scaled backed. What now? We'll be spending a little more money, I guess. BBQ sauce tastes like it was made from improvised ingredients from someone's pantry, but at least it's not hot, which would just be silly. This is not a fancy place, so we don't expect stellar service, though it hasn't been particularly bad.

the prices are awesome, the food portions are huge. if you are willing to go off the beaten path as far as location is concerned you will get a pleasant surprise. 👌🏼 i had the chef 🥗🥩 salad and i couldn't even finish half of it.😋
